I just found this picture. It was from the transition period of Hamilton Park. I’ve been using the term gnarly frequently recently, when I saw this image again I said, to myself, self, this epitomizes gnarly. I love the tangle of roots, I am assuming this picture was taken after some rains washed off dirt from the roots. I guess it's either ashes or decomposing in a heap of compost, or already fertilizing dirt by now. After decades of supporting shade and home for J.C. squirrels, for a short time languished uprooted. The roots ceased their usefuleness. Another transition.
