Phone Filled & Empty

Need a pay phone? Take a train. Was down in New Brunswick on the New Jersey Transit Line recently and noticed pay phones galore, well at least some. More than what I took pictures of for the purposes here but even among this old school communication plethora of drop-a-dime nostalgia, empty stalls. Pay phone gone. Wonder what they will do with these shelf systems. I heard tell of a new internet pay phone gizmo but who the heck can tell, I won’t be surprised when they come just how long they will stay until new technology makes them obsolete. The cycle’s so quick now obsolete should be given a verb form.
Notice too the TDD sign above the working phones. Telecommunication Device for the Deaf. The empty stalls, no smoking. This train station may be old school enough for a pay phone but when it comes to smoker’s rights, it’s strictly 21st century.
