Discarded Holiday
Somebody wanted these holidays over quick, first weekend of the year, throw out the artificial tree. Who throws out an artificial tree? Who gets rid of their tree on January 1st? Tossed to the curb, just another piece of debris, into the grimy snow. The blizzard is past, the snow is old, trash pick up expected to resume. Merry Christmas, I don’t want to fight tonight, sang the Ramones. Looks like one family probably didn’t get that wish. Just throw it out, lights and ornaments, all of it, so we will never remember our sad holiday. Made me think of Raymond Carver.
Jersey City is an isthmus. I live there. Just a guy trying to get by. This blog features stuff I feel like writing about. Hope you enjoy and come back for more.
