Old Rail Road Avenue; New Arbor

Arbor Day season again in Jersey City. Can’t you just feel the excitement, removing perfectly fine trees to street-scape because who doesn’t like fresh cement in their sidewalks and replacing them with thinner shade trees that will not provide shade for many a moon. Might as well as get the damn things planted now that the weather is warm and old Rail Road Avenue is getting some well needed paving. Could have planted redwoods in some of the pot holes. I like the way the workers move the grates around the tree trunks. They use a dirt drill to scoop away the dirt for the roots. Urban lanscaping at its best. We hope they will take root and withstand the wind
. This is why Downtown J.C. is known as the Paris of East Hudson County!
